It took us a little while to recover, but WOW, what a merry, gorgeous, loving, fabulous four-day wedding. Louis and Nicholas chose the auspicious 11th of the 11th 2011 at 11am to get married. Spookily, the Australian/South African cricket game was sitting at 111-1 at exactly that time. Not that we were watching cricket, we were listening to a soulful, spiritual, beautiful ceremony. Louis & Nicholas actually chose our not-quite-finished board room for their exchanging of vows. It’s pictured here, it looks stunning!
About 35 guests travelled from all over the world to spend time with this special couple in our little Swellendam Country Hotel. The party started on Wednesday night with take-away pizza and wine. Thursday morning after breakfast began the set up and food preparations. Thursday night was the most delicious traditional Portuguese paella dinner and wine. Friday was spent eating, drinking and being merry under the tent on the lawn. Saturday after breakfast, the group travelled down to Arniston to eat at Whilleen’s for lunch. Wonderful traditional spot right on the beach – www.flickr.com/photos/garethbee/334… Saturday night was a spitbraai, portuguese peri-peri prawns and braaied fish… and wine. Sunday, after an extensive ‘hangover’ breakfast, the group dispersed, tired, happy and filled to the brim with soul connection.
Thank you to all for the most spectacular time! We love you.
