A joyful family celebration: Jack & Cat Tie the Knot at Schoone Oordt

Last season, we had the absolute pleasure of working with my nephew Jack and his lovely partner Cat. They joined us for a hospitality project in August, bringing their dedication and enthusiasm to our team. But before they became part of our Schoone Oordt family, they celebrated a magical wedding here in April.

Jack and Cat’s wedding was a joyous occasion, attended by 35 guests who traveled all the way from Ireland. The intimate gathering was filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family and friends. The picturesque setting of Schoone Oordt, with its lush gardens and elegant conservatory, provided the perfect backdrop for their special day.

“Our destination wedding at Schoone Oordt was everything we dreamed of and more. The combination of the stunning location, intimate atmosphere, and impeccable service made it a truly unforgettable experience. It truly felt like a fairytale, from the ceremony held over the koi pond, to cocktails and lawn games as the sun dipped behind the mountains. Once the sun had truly set, the whole place was lit up as if by magic to host a gorgeous dinner, followed by dancing under the stars.

All of this was beautifully executed by Alison and her staff. Their attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine care were evident throughout our stay. From coordinating with our vendors to making sure every guest felt special, they handled every aspect of the wedding day with grace and professionalism. It felt like we were in good hands, and they made sure the event went off without a hitch.

The wedding was part of a two-week celebration, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the festivities. From exploring the charming town of Swellendam to enjoying local delicacies, the guests had a wonderful time experiencing the best of what our region has to offer.

One of the highlights of the wedding was the incredible band, the Downtown Gypsies that played throughout the evening. Their lively tunes and infectious energy had everyone on their feet, dancing the night away. The music echoed through the town, creating an unforgettable atmosphere that will be remembered for years to come.

Cat looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful white wedding dress with contrasting black lace detail. The elegant design perfectly complemented her radiant smile and added a unique touch to the celebration. Her dress was a true reflection of her style and grace, making her the center of attention on this special day.

Having Jack and Cat work with us last season was a unique experience. We were a bit nervous at first, as working with family can sometimes be challenging. However, they exceeded all our expectations with their professionalism and passion. It was a joy to see them grow and contribute to our team, and we were proud to support them on their special day.

We are incredibly grateful to have been part of Jack and Cat’s journey, both professionally and personally. Their wedding at Schoone Oordt was a testament to their love and commitment, and we wish them all the happiness in the world as they embark on this new chapter together.
